17/05/14 - 14,000 reasons to be Proud
Today the Scouts and Guides completed their second Saturday of work at International Aid Trust. They sorted through clothing and bundled them, as well as preparing work-wear and footwear ready for distribution.
They also delivered the aid which had been collected at church ready to be loaded on our truck that leaves for Romania on Wednesday 21st May. This has been paid for by donations over the last 14 months. The Scouts and Guides have raised £14,000 towards this venture. SO PROUD of their effort and thank you very much for all your donations.

25/03/14 - Silence has its rewards
The Rainbow and Brownie sections tonight undertook a sponsored silence. Forty little girls silent!!! Bliss. Well I had my doubts, but they proved me wrong and raised a considerable amount of money in the process. The girls have chosen to buy some toys and games for Casa Harului having learned about the camp and the children how visit the camp throughout the year. Well done girls - a fantastic effort and achievement.

22/3/14 - Just 9 weeks to go
It's now only 9 weeks till 32 Scouts, Guides and Leaders from the group travel to Romania. The fundraising is almost complete and International Aid Trust have kindly agreed to arrange the delivery of humanitarian aid via an articulated truck whilst the Group is in Romania. This will allow the children to see the fruits of their labours and experience some of the difficulties endured by the children of Romania.

Great news from Romania - our friend Beni Medrea is making very good progress following his illness and although not fully recovered yet, he is again involved with all the work at Casa Harului. For those who don't know Beni, I would describe him as the human equivalent to the cartoon character 'Billy Whizz'. He's not quite back up to full speed, but with the care of his family, he is getting there.

We look forward to creating a new page on which the children can share their thoughts and experiences with you.

09/02/14 - Cubs long stroll provides boost for Romanian children
On a cold and wet Wednesday evening during October half term, the Cub Scouts (boys and girls aged between 8 and 10) completed an illumithon. This was a walk through the entire length of Blackpool illuminations, a distance of just under six
miles. The Cub Pack raised over £400 in sponsorship and the children, who have been learning about the children of Romania, decided they spend the money on a trampoline. The trampoline will be delivered to Casa Harului when the Scouts and Guides visit is May this year. Well done to the Cubs, an outstanding effort and achievement.
